Enemy forces in this area were reportedly dug in 'caves' and in natural fighting positions, using small arms, machine-guns, rocket-propelled grenades, and mortars. The mission of the Task Force was to destroy all al Qaeda and Taliban fighters in and around Objective Area Remington. Eight American service members were killed in action and about 40 wounded.
